Maricopa police, fire departments holding car seat safety event

The Maricopa Police in conjunction with the Maricopa Fire Department has announced their new Car Seat Safety Program. The group of certified technicians completed a course through the National Child Passenger Safety Certification Training and partnered with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with the common goal to save lives, prevent injuries, reduce traffic costs through education, research, safety standards and enforcement.

The certified technicians are made up of Police Officers, Fire personnel and civilian employees. As technicians, they are committed to educate caregivers of proper use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts. When used correctly, the risk of hospitalization, injury, and death for children is greatly reduced.

The first event will take place on Saturday, April 25th at the Maricopa Fire Department Station #575 located at 45695 W. Edison Maricopa, AZ from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Please call the Maricopa Police Department at 520-316-6898 Monday- Friday 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. to schedule your appointment for April 25th.

Please expect between 20-30 minutes for your appointment with your technician. Please bring your vehicle and car seat manual. A limited amount of appointments will be available.
