TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

The 11th annual Pat's Run kicks off this Saturday, April 25 in Tempe. The 4.2 mile walk and run is in honor of ASU football star and army ranger Pat Tillman, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2004.

Proceeds from the event will help fund scholarships for Tillman Scholars from the Pat Tillman Foundation. The foundation was founded in 2004 to support military veterans and their spouses in their education.

Runners will where shirts with the number 42 and the race will finish on the 42-yard line of Frank Kush Field to represent the number of Tillman's jersey as an ASU Sun Devil.

Registration for the run is limited and must be completed before the day of the race. The registration fee is $55 for adults and $10 for children. All runners must pick up their packets by Friday, April 24 at 6 p.m. Participants who can't make it to the race can also register as "virtual runners" to support the cause.

The race starts at 7:05 a.m. at the Sun Devil Stadium.
