Playing in the street is OK for PHX3on3 tournament
PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -
This weekend, playing in the street was OK as the annual PHX3on3 tournament took over downtown.
“Lots of people turned out, and we're having a great event,” said Aaron Magner, who is one of the organizers for this year's tournament.
The tournament is an all-ages event with the top teams duking it out on center court.
“For us, it's about creating a great customer experience for our participants and the fans that are here, and we feel like we've got a lot of room to keep improving and keep growing this event,” Magner said.
Along with the three-on-three, there was a slam-dunk competition. This year's winner was Brandon Lacue with a windmill dunk over six people.
“It's a great competition," Lacue said. "You have to bring out your best dunks and win over the crowd."
Organizers say they'll be back next year, in case you wanted to start working on a your game and getting a team together.
