Tempt your taste buds at Scottsdale Culinary FestivalPosted: Updated:
The Scottsdale Culinary Festival is Arizona's tastiest fundraiser, and it's coming to the Valley this weekend to tempt your taste buds.
The Scottsdale Culinary Festival (SCF) is the longest-running food event of its kind, annually attracting more than 30,000 people to distinct, food-forward events sprinkled throughout the city.
On Thursday's Good Morning Arizona, we checked out El Hefe, which won the title of "best food" at the SCF last year for the restaurant's duck tacos. "It's pretty amazing," says Ryan Hibbert of Riot Hospitality group. "It's probably our best-seller."
The weekend is filled with events. On Thursday, April 9,check out the Bubbles and Bliss event and the Burger Battle. Bubbles and Bliss will be held at the W Scottsdale and will feature a White and Gold party, a sparkling champagne soiree. The event will bring the Bliss Spa Squad who will be distributing spa-at-home samples and massages.
On the same day, the highly anticipated Burger Battle will be held at Hotel Valley Ho. The battle will join the Valley's best chefs and restaurants together in a culinary cook-off to compete for the 2015 Best Burgers in the Valley award.
The end of the week features the Eat, Drink and Be Pretty event on Friday, April 10. The event will be held at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.
And for the highlight of the weekend? Come out and enjoy the beautiful Arizona weather at the Great Arizona Picnic, SCF's signature event, on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12. The Great Arizona Picnic will feature over 40 valley restaurants, top chefs, live music on three different stages and a Family Zone with activities for kids.
The picnic also raises money for a good cause. "We raise funds for art and art education around the Valley," says Dan Bowman with the SCF. "It usually goes to after-school programs. We donate to the ballet. We donate to Free Arts Arizona. We've raise over $4 million in the past 12 years."
Also on Saturday, April 11 come join award-winning chefs at top restaurants for a four-course dinner paired with libations. Restaurants include Distrito at the Saguaro Hotel, Lon's at The Hermosa Inn and II Terrazzo at The Phoenician.
To finish off the tastiest event of the year, SCF is hosting the Best of The Fest and Wine Country Brunch events on Sunday, April 12.
