Author Nicholas Sparks talks new movie "The Longest Ride"
PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -
Author Nicholas Sparks has brought stories like "The Notebook" and "Dear John" to romance enthusiasts for years, and his newest love story is coming the theaters this Friday, April 10.
"The Longest Ride" is Sparks' seventeenth novel and the tenth film adaptation of his books. The story follows two couples who have little in common, but whose lives converge in unexpected ways. Sparks said that "The Longest Ride" is a story that spans generations. The film stars Britt Robertson, Oona Chaplin, Scott Eastwood Jack Huston and more.
"I try to work with people in Hollywood who get the stories," Sparks said. "It's part of the reason why all of the films have been successful. We keep the story intact, we keep the characters intact, there are details that change, but they're very close to the novel in the end."
