Hundreds show up to hunt for Easter eggs in Peoria
PEORIA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -
For 39 years, it's been the ultimate Easter egg hunt in the Valley, and it happens the day before Easter Sunday.
“We come here every year, and they're my family, too,” said Dezarae Rosales, who brought her kids to the annual Dolly Sanchez Easter Egg Hunt that happened at the newly remodeled Peoria Sports Complex.
“I remember when we used to do it and we used to be the ones throwing the candy, so it's a good experience for everybody," Rosales said.
Families got a chance to walk down Cottontail Lane, and play carnival games and do arts and crafts in Bunny Land. Fun Meadows gave kids a chance to pet zoo animals, take a train ride, and jump on inflatables.
“St. Mary's Food Bank has been our partner for the last several years," one of the organizers said. "We take food donations here to help their cause, especially going into the summertime where there is a lot of need, and it's been a great partnership."
