Christ’s Church of the Valley transforms stadium for huge Easter service
GLENDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -
Christ's Church of the Valley is transforming the University of Phoenix Stadium into a super-sized church for an Easter Sunday service this Sunday, April 5.
Up to 55,000 people are expected to attend the mega-service, which begins at 10 a.m. at the stadium. Christ's Church of the Valley usually holds 25 different services on Easter Sunday, but this year they decided to roll all of those services into one event.
The service is open to the public as well as members from all five of Christ's Church of the Valley campuses. It is a family service for people of all ages, and has accommodations for mobility, hearing impairment and other special needs.
With more than 23,000 people currently attending 20 services at its five campuses each weekend, CCV is the largest church in Arizona and one of the largest churches in the United States.
Carpooling is recommended, and the church also recommends that guests arrive as early as 9 a.m.
