The Arizona Game and Fish Department is stocking 21 Phoenix and Tucson lakes wish more than 14,300 pounds of fish today, marking the switch from trout to catfish.

Biologists made a splash this morning as they released hundreds of 1.5 to 2 pound Arkansas catfish in each of the lakes. The Arizona Game and Fish Department releases fish into lakes that are part of the Core Community Fishing Program, an initiative that provides close-to-home fishing opportunities for anglers who don't want to drive longer distances to state waters.
