Gilbert asks residents to help plan new playgrounds

GILBERT, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

Gilbert Parks and Recreation is inviting residents to help them plan seven new playgrounds to be constructed in local parks.

Residents have the opportunity to view proposed designs for the playgrounds and vote for their favorites in an online poll at www.gilbertaz.gov/projectplayground.

The playgrounds will be constructed in Crossroads Park, Freestone Park, Oak tree Park, Veterans Park, Village II Park and Vista Allegre Park.

There is a one-vote limit per household, and voting ends on April 12.

Gilbert Parks and Recreation will be hosting open house meetings at the Gilbert Community Center in the Oak Room at 130 N. Oak St. at the following times and dates:

Wednesday, April 1st:
6:00 - 6:30 p.m.: Oak Tree Park
6:30 - 7:00 p.m.: Veterans Park
7:00 - 7:30 p.m.: Village II Park

Thursday, April 2nd:
6:00 - 6:30 p.m.: Vista Allegre Park
6:30 - 7:00 p.m.: Freestone Ballpark
7:00 - 7:30 p.m.: Crossroads Park
