Rimrock man arrested for murder of wife

Yavapai County sheriff's deputies have arrested a Rimrock man for the murder of his wife.

Manuel Lopez-Moncada, 43, called authorities to turn himself in and was taken into custody around 10 p.m. Saturday.

According to the sheriff's office, Lopez-Moncada has admitted involvement in the murder of 35-year-old Maria "Cecilia" Nava Pila.

She was found lying outside a residential trailer in the 3000 block of East Beaver Creek Road Thursday morning. EMS personnel said there was trauma to the body resulting from some type of assault.

Lopez-Moncada has been booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on a murder charge. His bond has not yet been set.
