BUCKEYE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - A Walmart in Buckeye was evacuated and closed after a suspicious backpack was found.

A bomb squad was sent in to look at the backpack at the store near Watson and Yuma roads.

Everyone had to leave after reports of a suspicious man, later identified as 26-year-old Zaya Badal, making references to a bomb.

When police got there, the store and parking lot were empty.

“During the conversation that Walmart employees were having with the individual, it was reported to us that he was in possession of a bomb inside the backpack,” said Officer Daniel Hoffmeister with the Buckeye Police Department.

In the end, there was no bomb, and Walmart reopened a short time later.

Badal, who is from El Cajon, California, was arrested and booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on felony charges.
