A semi-truck hauling frozen foods caught fire on the Loop 202 Saturday afternoon, snarling traffic at the Mini-Stack interchange.
The fire closed the westbound lanes of the freeway at 24th Street around 12:30 p.m., preventing drivers from reaching Interstate 10 and State Route 51.
Phoenix Fire Capt. Aaron Ernsberger said multiple fire crews worked together to gain control of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
It is unclear how the fire started.
The freeway was reopened by 6 p.m.
