3OYS Update: Valley Jeep owner finally gets recalls fixed

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Tiffany Jackson can finally breathe a little sigh of relief.

"I know seat belts work, airbags work, no fires are going to happen, nothing's wrong with my engine,” Jackson said. "It gives you peace of mind, absolutely."

In a previous 3OYS report, Jackson expressed frustration and disappointment in her 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee -- a vehicle she purchased brand new.

“I had only had that car four months and then I got my first recall in the mail,” Jackson said.

And it wouldn't be the only recall her Jeep would have.

Her first was for brakes and the sun visor. Then, she received more recall notices, including one that said her car could catch fire if it wasn't fixed. Eventually, Jackson had four recall notices for her Jeep.

Jackson says she sprung for a new car in order to avoid the mechanical breakdowns that sometimes come with a used car. But with all those recalls, Jackson wondered if she made the right decision.

Since the initial 3OYS report, there's been a break in her case.

"All four recalls were fixed,” Jackson said.

She said after 3 On Your Side's involvement, Jeep expedited the repairs and got them fixed. The company also sent her a letter thanking her for her loyalty and patience for the unexpected recalls, and gave her a gift certificate for $150.

Jackson originally said she felt the company was dragging its feet when she expressed concern over the recalls. However, she said 3 On Your Side getting involved was a turning point.

“Yes, Channel 3 - 3 On Your Side gets things done,” Jackson said. “If I had any issue or if anybody I know has an issue, I would definitely recommend them to reach out to 3 On Your Side."

Tiffany says she finally feels safe since the recalls are fixed. Nice touch, Jeep, with the $150 gift card.
