Laugh Factory opens Scottsdale location with comedian Paul RodriguezPosted: Updated:
After a massive, $2 million makeover, the 400-seat venue at at 7000 East Shea Boulevard is ready for some laughs.
"I've always loved Arizona and have performed throughout the state for over 20 years," says Rodriguez. "Arizonans deserve having a first-class comedy club and the comedy world will be enriched by all the young talent we will find here."
In a state that gave birth to comics like David Spade, Sandra Bernhard and Steve Allen, among others, the Laugh Factory knows Arizona is fertile ground for finding funny.
Each Wednesday, the venue will host an open mic night where comedic hopefuls can hop on stage for a chance to be discovered. Rodriguez and the Laugh Factory team will offer the budding comics private tips to help sharpen their showmanship.
"Every time you come in here, we guarantee you'll feel better when leaving," says Rodriguez.
The best of these budding comics will be invited to perform at the flagship Laugh Factory in Hollywood, where they'll get a chance to be exposed to the Hollywood industry.
The Laugh Factory also plans to continue its traditional charitable endeavors here in Arizona. Each year, Hollywood's Laugh Factory conducts a toy drive for children and offers free Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to the lonely and underprivileged, and they plan to continue these traditions here in the Grand Canyon State.
