TUCSON, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents found five undocumented immigrants hiding in the trunks of three cars trying to enter the United States, according to a CBP news release.

Agents found a Mexican national inside the trunk of a Dodge Avenger on March 11, two inside the trunk of a Dodge Neon on March 13 and two more, including a juvenile, in the trunk of a Chevrolet Cruze on March 14.

All were found at the Interstate 19 Tucson Sector Border Patrol checkpoint.

Several of those detained said they had no idea there was a trunk release mechanism inside the trunks.
