Pima Community College to raise students' tuition fees

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, AZ (AP) - The school's Board of Governors this week approved a $5 per-credit-hour increase for in-state residents, raising tuition to more than $75 per credit-hour.

At the Wednesday night meeting, the board also voted to raise non-residents' tuition from $329 per credit-hour to $352. The spike amounts to about $23 a credit-hour.

The panel also approved raising a semester processing fee from $10 to $15.

However, they are eliminating a $15 graduation fee and a $2 fee for a student ID card.

The new fees take effect with the next academic year, which begins July 1.

School officials say the additional funds from the new fees will help with student initiatives.
