Phoenix International Raceway hosts 500 Race Weekend

NASCAR fans, start your engines! Phoenix International Raceway is hosting the 500 Race Weekend, a weekend full of fuel, lightning-speed action and entertainment.

The NASCAR Mexico Series season-opening race the Toyota 120 kicks the weekend off at PIR tonight, March 13. This is the third year that the Mexico series has opened its season in the Valley. PIR is the biggest track of the series every year, with three lanes of racers zooming around the one-mile oval track.

The weekend is full of racing, food and entertainment all weekend from today until Sunday, March 15.

The 500 Race Weekend at PIR has more to offer than racing, including music performances by popular Latin stars and chances to meet and mingle with fan favorite NASCAR drivers. There will be a free driver autograph session on Saturday, march 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

The race event will also feature a fan Midway, packed with vendors, displays, games and live music to keep fans fueled.

For super race fans, there will be a “Sleeper Camry” on display with an 850-hp engine, a race-themed Ferris wheel, and a fan race tracking course at the United Workers Display. Fans can also view the race trophy and the Sprint Cup Series Championship Trophy on display in Victory Lane.
