The 27th Annual Chandler Ostrich Festival is back this weekend, featuring ostrich races, music, food and an entertainment Midway with 50 different rides.
The Ostrich Festival kicks off at Tumbleweed Park today, March 13 from 2 p.m. to midnight. The adventure starts up Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m. and will run until midnight. On Sunday, March 15, the festival will run from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m.
The event includes festivities from the Great American Ostrich races to death defying motorcycle performances from the Texas Thrill Show. A famous Las Vegas bird show will be visiting the festival, featuring eagles, macaws, horn-bills, parrots, a 10-foot wingspan condor and more.
Chachi "The Rocketman" Valencia will pack an extreme punch in his human cannon act, free flying 65 feet into the air at speeds of 55 miles per hour for 165 feet.
The festival will also include tigers, magic shows, and even a chance to meet some Disney stars.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the festival. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for children and seniors, and free for children ages 4 or younger. There are advance ticket packages available at Fry's stores and the Chandler Chamber of Commerce. The $67 Family Fun Packs are an $84 value, including two adult tickets, two youth tickets, and two all-day carnival rice wristbands. Visitors can also get a $21 all-day carnival ride wristband if they purchase it in advance.
Parking at the festival is $5 per car, and $3 for motorcycles.
