PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Finding professional clothes for an interview can be a challenge, but one Valley organization is helping men and women dress for success and prepare for the workforce.

Arizona Women’s Education and Employment, or AWEE, has a clothing boutique in downtown Phoenix, on 1st Avenue between Fillmore and McKinley. The boutique is full of gently used, donated clothing to share with their clients free of charge to ensure they feel confident for interviews.

AWEE is a workforce development nonprofit that works to help people get on their feet and get jobs. The organization has been around for 34 years, and has served more than 160,000 people. They provide training, resources and support service for men, women and young adults in Maricopa and Yavapai counties.

"Confidence is key," co-chair of the Cocktails and Clothes event Phyllis Dumond said. "You may have the skills that are necessary, but it’s how we feel about how we present ourselves, and of course the people sitting on the other side of that interview are thinking about that as well. So we try to provide the very best for our recipients when they go out there."

AWEE is hosting a "Cocktails and Clothes" donation event tomorrow, March 3, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort, and encourage the community to drop off any clothing they would like to donate. The event is also a fund raiser to support AWEE’s workforce development services and programs, and will include raffles, auctions, cocktails and more.

Each year, "Cocktails and Clothes" provides new and gently used professional dresses, suits, slacks, blouses, shoes, briefcases and purses to women and slacks, shirts, ties, shoes and sports jackets  to men  and young adults entering or re-entering the workforce.

Tickets are $65 and can be purchased at www.awee.org, or at the door the day of the event.
