PHOENIX, Ariz. – Many people aspire to run a marathon at least once in their life time, but one Valley woman can run circles around that dream.

69-year-old Ila Brandli, has just returned from running eight marathons in seven days on seven different continents, and her next adventure is to help raise money for a local Maricopa County organization, Girls on the Run.

Brandli has run nearly 100 marathons since she started running in 2006, and tomorrow, Feb. 28, Brandli will run her 100th marathon at the Phoenix Marathon in support of Girls on the Run.

Girls on the Run is a local nonprofit organization that combines academics with running to empower girls in the Valley through running and learning.

"Ila is an awesome example of teaching girls to go after their unlimited potential," Meagan Kukowski of Girls on the Run said.

Brandli has run everywhere from Antarctica to Abu Dhabi, and doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.
