PHOENIX -- A series of strong weather systems will begin moving into Arizona Saturday, and by Saturday night, we could see some rain developing around the Valley.

Sunday is looking very wet, a possible washout, with rain throughout the day. Some weather models are showing an inch of rain or more through Sunday night.

In the meantime, we’ll finish the week with rather mild weather. Look for lots of sunshine and highs in the mid-70s both Thursday and Friday.

After that, with the cold front approaching, Saturday will be the transition day into what could be a very unsettled and wet several days for Arizona.

As the front moves in Saturday, we’re expecting strong winds across northern Arizona with wind gusts up to 50 mph.

The precipitation will begin Saturday afternoon in northern Arizona with snow levels at Flagstaff running at about 6,500 feet. Those snow levels will vary throughout the state.

At this point, the forecast stays cold and wet through Wednesday of next week. We’re optimistic this precipitation will also mean a bunch of snow in the mountains of our state.
