PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns unveiled a new alternate jersey that pays homage to a classic uniform from the team's past.
The "PHXRising" uniform will serve as the Suns’ second alternate and be worn by the team for the first time on Feb. 26 against the Oklahoma City Thunder
Per a team release, the "gray, black and orange palette symbolizes the ash, smoke and embers of the mythological bird for which Phoenix is named. The new look integrates elements from the iconic Suns uniform introduced in 1973, including the Old West 'PHOENIX' font across the front, as well as classic sunbursts on the shorts. In a modern twist, sun rays from the team’s current uniforms adorn each side of the shorts, signifying the up-tempo style of play that the Suns are known for."
The team will wear the uniform four times this season.
