Phoenix weather: Winter storm brings more rain and snowPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Some Valley residents woke to light rain showers again this morning, as a winter storm continued making its way through Arizona.
Although the bulk of the rain and snow moved through yesterday, isolated showers are still possible in the Valley throughout the day.
Temperatures are expected to be cooler, with an afternoon high near 67 degrees. That's about 5 degrees below average for this time of year. Rainfall totals today are expected to be light, generally less than 0.1 inch.
More snow can be expected in the high country today, but not much accumulation is expected, with the exception of Eastern Arizona. No watches or warnings are in place for winter weather today.
Strong winds out of the north are expected today in the Colorado River Valley in Western Arizona, while the Valley will see northerly breezes of about 10 to 15 miles an hour.
In the wake of this week's low pressure system, drier and cooler air moves into the state. Overnight lows tonight will drop to the 40s, but temperatures warm back to the low 70s tomorrow and to the upper 70s by the end of the workweek.
Over the weekend, another storm looks likely with temperatures dropping back to the mid 60s and a chance of rain both Saturday and Sunday.
