PEORIA, Ariz. -- A creative fundraiser from the City of Peoria is calling on Valley artists to paint and decorate chairs to be auctioned off for a good cause.

Artists can create and donate any chair they’d like with any kind of renovation or decoration for the Create-A-Chair Auction. The chair-ity is part of the Peoria Arts and Culture Festival where the works of art will be auctioned off on April 11 to benefit the Peoria Education Foundation.

Bring an old piece of furniture back to life by stripping, refurbishing it, painting it and more, while also benefitting others.

Chairs may be entered on April 11 between 7 a.m. and 8 am at Theater Works at Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, located at 8355 W. Peoria Ave. The chairs will be on display at the Peoria Arts and Cultural Festival in Old Town Peoria on April 11 from 9 a.m. to noon. The silent auction will occur between noon and 4 p.m., starting with a minimum bid of $25.

Students from the Peoria Unified School District will exhibit their art and host performances from choir to dance and band at the festival. The festival runs from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at multiple venues, including Osuna Park, Peoria’s Center for Performing Arts, Peoria Historical Museums, Community Center and the surrounding streets.
