PHOENIX -- This week entrepreneurs can get help starting their business.

Phoenix Startup Week, which features more than 130 free events created by other entrepreneurs, kicks off Monday.
The goal is for current business owners to teach people what they learned while starting their operations, including the challenges they've faced.

This isn't just for entrepreneurs starting their first business. It's also for entrepreneurs who have been in business for awhile and want to network or hone their skills.

"Not just connectivity between entrepreneurs, but also a lot of courage that emerges from this because what I see happen is sometimes you can get isolated and feel alone and startup life is hard,” said Storybyte CEO Jonathan Cottrell, the primary organizer of Phoenix Startup Week. “Running a business is hard, so it's really important to come together with people who are like you and face some of the same challenges you do and get the courage you need."

Each day the events will be in a different part of the Valley.

  • Monday - Downtown Phoenix
  • Tuesday - Downtown Scottsdale
  • Wednesday - Tempe
  • Thursday - North Scottsdale
  • Friday - Arcadia-Biltmore area

Event organizers say they expect more than 3,000 attendees over the course of the five-day event.
