PHOENIX -- Gunshots rang out in a home in central Phoenix near 16th and Oak streets.

“All we know right now is that the front door was forced open, but we don't know how or by who,” said Sgt. Micah Kaskavage with the Phoenix Police Department.

Police say four people were home at the time and that the man who died is in his mid-30s. He was killed in the living room.

Police aren't sure how many people were involved, if there's a relationship of some sort, or why the door was forced open and the man was killed.

As of Saturday morning, investigators were still waiting for a search warrant to get into the home.

“As soon as they get the search warrant, they'll be processing the scene and conducting further interviews with the witnesses to see if there's anything else to go on,” Kaskavage said.

Police have not released the identity of the man who died.
