PHOENIX -- Marina Huck and Robert McMurchy say this picture of their home in Canada pretty much explains why they decided to spend a few months a year here in beautiful Arizona.

"Well the weather is the main draw, and then we've met lots of nice friends and enjoy just being down here," said Huck.

On a recent visit to Arizona, Marina wrote a personal check from her Canadian bank account and deposited it at Arizona Federal Credit Union account where they also bank.

"Well on November the 29th, I deposited a check to myself on my Canadian account, US dollars, which I do all the time, but I made it out to $5,500," said Huck.

From depositing checks before, Huck knew it usually takes a couple of days for her Canadian check to clear but after a couple weeks she started getting nervous. The $5,500 deposit never did show up.

"I was concerned about it from the 10th of December, but then when the funds came out of my bank in Canada on the 19th of December - on the 20th there was nothing there, on the 21st there was nothing there - that's when I started to get panicked," said Huck.

Huck said it's now been two months and although the money clearly came out of her Canadian bank account, it remains missing because Arizona Federal Credit Union said it has no record of the deposit.

"They need to find my money and put it in my bank account," said Huck.

3 On Your Side got involved, and contacted Arizona Federal Credit Union which immediately looked into the matter.

And although, the credit union said it couldn't comment on the issue directly due to privacy regulations, guess what?

Arizona Federal Credit Union immediately found Huck’s missing $5,500 and promptly put it in her account where it should have been all along.

Huck said she owes it all to 3 On Your Side.

"I’d like to thank 3 On Your Side for all their time and effort on my behalf. I couldn’t have done it without them," Huck said.
