EL RENO, Okla. — Authorities in Oklahoma arrested an Arizona man on Tuesday, saying they found marijuana hidden in his baby’s car seat.

The 5-month-old baby only weighed a few pounds more than the marijuana authorities said they found.

“It's pretty gut-wrenching whenever you see children involved in such heinous crimes,” said Senior Agent Mike Arnold with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

Arnold said he made the discovery after pulling over Andrew Charles Wyatt Jr. for speeding on Interstate 40 through Canadian County and smelled pot.

Arnold said everyone in the car tried to deny it at first, but Arnold and his K-9 Scout have been working together so long, they knew they couldn’t even overlook a child.

“Whenever you pull over a car that has children in it, you just hope there's nothing in that car. And then when you do come across it, you go through a roller-coaster of emotions,” Arnold said.

Wyatt was arrested, and the child’s mother retained custody of the baby.
