PD: Bicyclist hit by car in Phoenix failed to yield

PHOENIX -- Phoenix police said a bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car Tuesday afternoon.

The collision occurred in the area of Cave Creek and Hatcher roads.

Sgt. Trent Crump said the bicyclist failed to yield as he crossed Cave Creek Road from west to east and was struck by a southbound vehicle.

No names or ages have been released.

Cave Creek Road was closed in both directions between Dunlap Avenue and Hatcher Road during the investigation.
