PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The pit bull who was abandoned on a couch in front of a home near 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road last month has found a new home.

Brownie joined his new family on Saturday with new owner Ted Wynn, his son and their dog.

The dog was left behind when his owner moved in January. Maricopa Animal and Rabies Control picked Brownie up, and he was eventually placed with the Humane Society. After the dog’s previous owner failed to make a claim for the pet, Brownie went up for adoption on Friday.

It costs AHS an average of $327 to care for every pet they take in, and there are more furry friends with stories just like Brownie’s. Help make a difference at azhumane.org.
