TEMPE, Ariz. -- A woman walking along U.S. Highway 60 in Tempe was struck and killed Sunday night.
The woman appeared to be intoxicated as she walked east along the right shoulder of the highway near Rural Road about 9 p.m., an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman said.
The 30-year-old woman wandered into the traffic lanes and was struck by a passenger car, said Raul Garcia of DPS.
The road was closed until just after 1 a.m. Monday.
The car's driver stopped a short distance away.
No other information was available.
