PHOENIX – A 51-year-old El Mirage man has been sentenced to five years in prison in a child pornography case.

James Robert Desilva also was sentenced Friday to lifetime probation with sex offender terms upon his release.

In December, Desilva pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

He originally was charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after his arrest in February 2014.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office discovered that an IP address belonging to Desilva was sharing child pornography files.

At the time of his arrest, Desilva worked as an IT specialist for the Arizona Department of Real Estate.
