2 Injured in Phoenix crash involving motorcycle, bicycle

PHOENIX -- Two men were critically injured in a collision involving a motorcycle and bicycle Thursday night.

The Phoenix Fire Department responded to the collision at Van Buren and 52nd streets around 9 p.m.

Capt. Benjamin Santillan said a bicyclist in his 30s and a motorcyclist in his 60s were transported to trauma centers.

Santillan said the men were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

"This is a reminder to all that ride motorcycles or bicycles to please wear a helmet," he said.

No names have been released.

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the collision.
