Tractor driver, 2 kids critically injured in collision with car

PHOENIX – A man and two children were seriously injured when a tractor they were on collided with a car near Tolleson Thursday night.

The collision happened at about 9:40 p.m. near 75th Avenue and Broadway Road.

Firefighters arrived and found a man in his 30s who was driving the tractor pinned underneath it.

Capt. Benjamin Santillan with the Phoenix Fire Department said crews extricated the man and he was transported in extremely critical condition to a nearby trauma center.

A 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy who were riding on the tractor were in critical condition when they were transported to a pediatric trauma center.

The driver and passenger in the car were not injured.

The collision is under investigation.

No names have been released.
