MESA, Ariz. -- Police are trying to identify a person accused of stealing alcohol from the same grocery store on three different days in December.

The man stole a combined total of approximately $1,400 worth of alcohol from the Safeway at 2740 E. University Drive on Dec. 26, 28, and 29 of last year.

Each time, he placed the alcohol in a cart and then concealed it in a bag or backpack before leaving the store without paying.

On Dec. 29, a loss prevention officer was able to grab the suspect's backpack and pull it off of him before he fled on foot.

No vehicle has been seen.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, 5'11" to 6'2" tall, weighing 150 to 170 pounds.

Anyone with information on this case should contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211.
