PHOENIX -- Talk about puppy love! Valentine's Day weekend is the perfect time for the Arizona Humane Society's "Paws for Love" campaign.

The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) is partnering with all 113 Arizona Safeway stores for the third annual Paws for Love.

Paws for Love is a fund raising campaign that offers Valley pet lovers and shoppers the opportunity to donate to the lifesaving programs and services of AHS at any Safeway store throughout the month of February.

The campaign will feature a Valentine's kissing booth and adoption event on Friday, February 13. The event will celebrate the joy of pets and raise money as well.

Paws for Love is the community's chance to show that neglected animals aren't really neglected, that homelessness doesn't equate to heartlessness and that few things heal injuries quite as well as compassion.

Last year's campaign raised more than $36,000, enough to help care for more than 85 homeless animals.
