Travel back in time at the 27th annual Renaissance FestivalPosted: Updated:
GOLD CANYON, Ariz. -- Huzzah! Looking for a little adventure? Travel back in time to the Renaissance era and experience some exciting history at the 27th annual Arizona Renaissance Festival.
The annual faire is celebrating its grand opening weekend this weekend with special ticket prices—two tickets for a blast from the past for only $22. The festival will run every weekend from Feb. 7 until March 29 and on Presidents Day. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday.
The Royal Faire is packed with 2,000 costumed characters, 200 craft shops, 150 shows every day, a 5,000-seat arena for jousting events, and delicious food, including those faire-favorite roasted turkey legs. The Faire features demonstrations of time honored crafts such as weaving, jewelry making, glass blowing, blacksmithing and pottery throwing.
This year, the festival will have new shows and new shops, along with their usual crazy village street shenanigans, people-powered rides, and of course lots of action and adventure.
Plan to spend the entire day on your trip to 16th century entertainment, as the festival sprawls across 30 acres of royal fun.
Advanced discount tickets are available for purchase online at www.RenFestInfo.com, or at Fry's grocery stores. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids ages 5 through 12.
