COTTONWOOD, Ariz. -- Three Yavapai County teens are accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl from their high school.

The victim told Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies that a boy from her school called her Saturday night and asked if she would like to hang out with some friends.

He and two other Mingus Union High School students reportedly picked her up a short time later.

She told deputies on Monday that the boys drove her to a remote area outside of Cottonwood, where they said an outdoor social gathering was taking place.

According to the sheriff's office, there was no gathering, and the boys stopped the vehicle and sexually assaulted her. They dropped her off at her home around midnight.

On Tuesday, the sheriff's office arrested two 16-year-old boys at the school and a 17-year-old boy at his Cottonwood home.

They were booked into the Prescott Juvenile Detention Center on charges of kidnapping and sexual assault. One of the teens was also charged with criminal liability.
