Ducey names former investigator to lead contractors watchdog

PHOENIX (AP) -- A former investigator for the Registrar of Contractors has been named to lead the agency by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.
Ducey says Jeffrey Fleetham has a background in construction, consumer products, consulting and dispute resolution in both public and private sector industries. He says that background will help the agency protect the public while ensuring contractors have a positive business environment.
Fleetham currently owns a residential project consulting and dispute resolution company.
He replaces William Mundell, who was appointed by former Gov. Jan Brewer. Mundell is a former Corporation Commissioner, state lawmaker and Chandler municipal court judge.
The Registrar of Contractors licenses and regulates construction contractors.
