Celebrating 'National Weatherperson's Day' with praise and pizzaPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- They deliver our weather reports daily. Now Papa Murphy's is delivering a little love to some of our favorite forecasters, April and Tess. That's because Thursday is National National Weatherperson's Day
According to the National Weather Service, February 5 is National Weatherperson's Day, commemorating the birth of John Jeffries in 1744. Jeffries, one of America's first weather observers, began taking daily weather observations in Boston in 1774 and he took the first balloon observation in 1784. This is a day to recognize the men and women who collectively provide Americans with the best weather, water, and climate forecasts and warning services of any nation.
In honor of our favorite forecasters, Papa Murphy's joined us Thursday to bake up a heart-shaped "HeartBaker Pizza" for our favorite forecasters. The heart-shaped pizza is also available for your special someone, but only through Valentine's Day.
This traditional offering is available for a limited time at all Phoenix Metro locations, through February 14 for $8. The HeartBaker Pizza starts with Papa Murphy's fresh, scratch-made dough in the shape of a heart which is then topped with traditional red sauce, generous portions of 100 percent whole milk mozzarella cheese and premium pepperoni slices. The HeartBaker should be taken home, baked at 425 degrees and served fresh out of the oven in 12 - 18 minutes, then shared with the ones you love.
"We are focused on bringing families together through food people love," explains Ed Holmes, Papa Murphy's Franchise Owner. "The season we celebrate love is a perfect time to bring families across the country together to share this special home-baked tradition offered exclusively by Papa Murphy's."
There are currently more than 45 locations in the Phoenix metro area, with more slated to open in 2015. Visit www.papamurphys.com for locations, phone numbers and hours of operation.
