Classic fairytale Cinderella takes Gammage stage

TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - One of the most beloved fairy tales of all time is coming to ASU Gammage. Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella is taking the stage from today until Sunday, March 15.

From fantasy transformations to pumpkin carriages and glass slippers, the Broadway performance is full of fairy tale excitement, and a few twists.

The production features extravagant costumes and whimsical props to recreate the classic tale.

"Something that's so fun about doing a piece that takes place in a fairy tale land a couple hundred years ago is embodying these characters and taking this story of transformation," actor Andy Jones said. "And a lot of that has to do with Cinderella transforming her dress, and the costumes are such a huge part of this story."

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. tonight, as well as Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13. On Saturday, March 14, the performances will be at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. On Sunday, March 15, the performances will be at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
