PHOENIX (AP) -- Authorities say a Maricopa County juvenile-detention officer is facing an assault charge involving a teenage inmate.

County Sheriff's detectives arrested 41-year-old Martin Ross after investigators reviewed surveillance footage and say they saw the officer push the head of a 13-year-old inmate into a wall.

They say the inmate also was allegedly slammed to the ground by Martin.

Court records show the teenage inmate suffered a concussion from the altercation.

Martin was booked into the county jail on one count of aggravated assault on a minor and released on his own recognizance.

It was unclear Tuesday if he has a lawyer yet.
