PHOENIX -- A ridge of high pressure building into the desert Southwest in the upper atmosphere will keep the Jet stream well north of the state. As a result, Arizona will continue to see unseasonably warm temperatures through the weekend. It will also stay dry.
In the Valley, we expect highs on Wednesday to mainly be in the upper 70s. By Thursday and Friday, we’ll probably get into the low 80s. That means we’ll be averaging more than 10 degrees warmer than normal. Similar warm conditions are expected around the entire state with mountain highs in the 50s and 60s through the weekend.
The stable weather pattern that is settling in could hang around for awhile. Some of our longer-range forecast models are keeping it warm and dry for the next 10-14 days!
