PHOENIX -- The Arizona Humane Society (AHS), along with its Fix.Adopt.Save partners, hosted the third annual World Spay Day kick off at Tempe Marketplace.

To mark the event, they handed out 500 free spay/neuter vouchers to Valley pet owners courtesy of AHS’ Circle of Friends. World Spay Day takes place Feb. 24, but Fix.Adopt.Save partners are celebrating all month long with a variety of free and low-cost spay/neuter events.

The kickoff even will also include adoptable AHS pets, as well as medical staff available to answer any spay/neuter questions.

The vouchers were given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. AHS spokeswoman Bretta Nelson said they ran out of the vouchers earlier than ever before.
