BUCKEYE, Ariz. -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has located a vehicle believed to have been involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Buckeye.

According to the sheriff's office, Keith Edgemon, 38, was walking or standing on Palo Verde Road south of Baseline Road when he was struck by a large vehicle between 5:45 a.m. and 5:55 a.m. on Jan. 23. The vehicle did not stop at the scene.

Investigators said there was no vehicle debris near the collision site and the only evidence was injury pattern marks on Edgemon's body.

On Friday, members of the MCSO Vehicular Crimes Unit located a vehicle that had vehicle parts extending out from the left side, behind the driver's compartment. Investigators said the size and shape of the parts were consistent with the injury patterns on Edgemon's body.

The vehicle was located and the owner is cooperating with law enforcement. The vehicle's driver was interviewed and he placed himself in the area near the time of the collision, according to MCSO officials.

The driver reported seeing no one in the roadway and said he did not hear or feel a collision.

A search warrant was obtained to photograph the vehicle parts and take swabs looking for the victim's DNA.

Confirmation of the vehicle's involvement in the collision is pending DNA analysis of the evidence.

Anyone with further information regarding this collision is asked to call the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office at 602-876-1011.
