5 Teens hurt in Phoenix crash

PHOENIX -- Five teens were injured in an auto accident in Phoenix Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to 35th and Dunlap avenues around 2 p.m. for a crash involving a truck and a van.

Phoenix Fire Capt. Benjamin Santillan said the driver and lone occupant of the Dodge truck was not injured, but all of the occupants in the van needed medical attention.

Two males, ages 18 and 19, were taken to a local trauma center in critical condition. Two females, ages 13 and 14, were taken to a local pediatric trauma center in serious condition.

A 16-year-old boy was also transported to a hospital, but Santillan said his injuries are minor.

Phoenix police are investigating.
