An Indiana fifth-grader received an unforgettable big birthday surprise.

The boy had not seen his older brother, a U.S. Army private deployed in Afghanistan, for three years. So when the soldier returned home, he decided to surprise his little brother at school.

"I'm an E-1 Private.in the U.S. Army," said Dalton Moore right before the big moment. "I got back last night where they informed me this was going to happen. I am going to surprise my little brother with a birthday cake. It's his birthday and what better present than me? So, expect tears, he'll cry."

Moore was right.

The brothers had grown very close since their father passed away.

"And then, low and behold, I joined the military and had to go. He's my little brother, I love him," Moore said.
