PHOENIX -- The giant Pacific octopus at Sea Life Arizona has been watching the football season all year, and she predicts the Seattle Seahawks will take the trophy.

"I think she knows a lot about football," said aquarist Paige Bryson. "She just chose the winner of the Super Bowl."

Aquarium staff placed a helmet for each team in the tank, both of which were filled with shrimp.

"We didn't deflate any shrimp," Bryson joked. "The shrimp were fully inflated. There was equal shrimp in both helmets."

The octopus grabbed the Seahawks helmet.

"She did a really good job picking the Super Bowl winner," Bryson said. "She chose the Seahawks and it was a pretty fair pick, we think."

For local families not wanting to fight the crowds at Super Bowl events, the aquarium at Arizona Mills Mall is offering a special deal through Feb. 1. Tickets are available online for $9.50 per person.
