Official artist of the Super Bowl creates collectible artPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- He's the official artist of the Super Bowl, NFL and MLB! Charles Fazzino joined us on Good Morning Arizona Thursday to show us why his work is in such high demand.
He talked to us about his distinctive 3D art technique. "My artwork is called pop-out art, or pop-up art," he says. "They're layered almost like a lasagna. Everything is cut out by hand. They're hand-printed in my studios up in New York. And every piece is a labor of love."
Fazzino has commemorated each Super Bowl for the past 14 years. He also commemorated the MLB All-Star game that was here in 2011 with his artwork.
He also features hand-painted football helmets. "They're actually hand-painted in my studios," he says. "We have a staff of artists and we work collectively on the pieces. We try to what's going on in the city."
Plus, he has created official artwork for high profile events, including: the Olympic Games, Fort Lauderdale Centennial, NASCAR Sprint Cup series, NHL All-Star Game, Belmont Stakes, Daytona 500, Indy 500, Andy Roddick Charity Gala, U.S. Tennis Foundation, CMA Awards, Grammy Awards, NBC's "Today" Summer Concert Series, Rosie O'Donnell's For All Kids Foundation and the President William J.
