Funeral set for dispatcher killed in crash; donations being collected for family

PHOENIX – Funeral services for a Phoenix Fire Department dispatcher killed in a crash with a wrong-way driver have been scheduled and donations are being accepted to help her family.

The funeral for Megan Lange will be Feb. 10, 10:30 a.m., at Christ's Church of the Valley, 7007 W. Happy Valley Road, in Peoria. It will be open to the public.

Lange was driving home from work early Tuesday morning when her vehicle was hit by a Chevrolet Suburban going the wrong way on Interstate 17. She died later at a hospital.

Lange leaves behind a husband and two young children.

United Phoenix Firefighters are collecting donations to support her family through UPFFA Community Charities. Donations can be made in person or mailed to the offices at 61 E. Columbus Ave., Phoenix, Arizona, 85012. Make checks out to United Phoenix Firefighters Community Charities with Megan Lange written in the memo section.

In addition, a fundraiser barbecue is being held to benefit her family. The event will be held Friday, noon-6 p.m., at 3909 N. 16th St. in Phoenix.
